Elderly
No adjustment of dosage is required in the elderly.

Children
Efficacy and safety of Avelox in children and adolescents have not been established (see also Contraindications).

Interethnic differences
No adjustment of dosage is required in ethnic groups.

No clinically relevant interethnic differences in pharmacokinetics could be detected in studies including Caucasian, Japanese, Black, and other ethnic groups.

Hepatic impairment
No dose adjustment is required in patients with mild to moderate liver dysfunction (see Special Warnings and Precautions about use in severe liver dysfunction, Child Pugh C patients).

Renal impairment
No dose adjustment is required in patients with renal impairment (including creatinine clearance 30ml/min/1.73m2) and in patients on chronic dialysis i.e. hemodialysis or continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis.
